What’s the Best SSD for Storage Within My Budget?

I'm looking to upgrade my storage with a new SSD since my 500 GB m.2 boot drive is filling up too quickly with games. I've got only one slot on my motherboard—should I opt for a SATA drive or go for a larger m.2 SSD? Also, if I decide on a SATA drive, can anyone recommend some good options under 100€?

You really don’t have to overthink this. For game storage, you can pick any 2TB SATA SSD under 100€ that fits your needs. The Adata brand also offers good quality without hitting Samsung EVO prices!

If you want to avoid moving your OS, a SATA drive should work fine for games. Most games don't need speeds over 500 MB/s, which is typical for SATA III drives like the Samsung 870 EVO. A good SATA SSD, especially one with a DRAM cache, should serve you well. However, if you want lightning-fast speeds for the latest games, you might consider swapping to a bigger NVMe SSD, but that means you'll need to either reinstall Windows or clone your old drive to the new one. If you're looking for recommendations, the Crucial BX500 1TB is around 100€ for SATA, and for M.2 NVMe, try the TeamGroup MP33 Pro 1TB if you can find it under budget!

Honestly, I think the Samsung EVO series is solid. Last I checked, models like the Samsung EVO 1TB are usually within your budget if you look carefully. They tend to perform a bit better than some cheaper alternatives. If you're okay with spending a bit more, it's worth considering!

If you’re building your own PC, the WD SN5000 2TB is a great option. It has a longer warranty compared to others and is reliable. I found it just a little over your budget, but it's worth it considering the features you're getting!

I just bought 2 Silicon Power 2TB SSDs for around 85.99 each on Amazon, and they've been working great so far. Plus, they're cheaper than brands like Samsung where you pay a premium. If your m.2 slot supports NVMe, the WD Black SN850X 1TB could be a great buy too if you can find it under 100€. What do you think?

How's the performance on those Silicon Power drives? Good read/write speeds?
