I'm new to the world of computer upgrades and I'm looking to enhance my laptop's storage. I've got slots for both SATA and M.2 SSDs, but I'm not sure which type to go for. What should I consider when making a decision?

M.2 is usually more powerful than SATA, but you didn't mention the generation of your laptop. A Samsung 990 Pro is a great option for gen 4, and if you're looking for gen 5, the 9100 Pro is solid. I use both and they're awesome!
M.2 SSDs are definitely faster than SATA drives, so if you're looking for better performance, that's the way to go. Just curious, what laptop model do you have?
I'm stuck with a laptop that only supports SATA.
