Hey everyone! I'm looking for some advice on what I should upgrade next in my PC build. Here's what I have right now:
- **CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 5600G
- **CPU Cooler:** Thermalright Frozen Prism (AIO liquid cooler)
- **Motherboard:** Asus TUF GAMING B450-PLUS II (ATX, AM4)
- **RAM:** Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2x8GB) DDR4-3200 CL16
- **GPU:** Inno3D X3 GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8GB
- **Storage:** 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD
- **Power Supply:** 650W (unknown model)
- **Case:** Mid-tower with six RGB fans
- **Monitor:** Dell G2724D 27" 2560x1440 165Hz

I'd really appreciate any recommendations on what I should focus on upgrading next. Thanks!

It really depends on your budget, but swapping out your CPU could give you a significant performance boost. For around $140, you could get a 5800XT, which delivers a decent gaming uplift. If you can find a 5700X3D for $200, that might yield even better results!

Thanks for that intel! I think going for a new CPU might be my best bet for performance vs cost. Do you think my PSU could be holding back my system? I’ve been having inconsistent frame rates and GPU temps are high even at moderate usage.

First off, I'd recommend considering an upgrade to your power supply since it's a bit sketchy to have an unknown model. A solid power supply can ensure your system runs smoothly, especially with your current specs.

Good call, but what wattage do you think I should aim for if I do upgrade?

If you're noticing issues like inconsistent frame rates or overheating, it might be wise to look into those. The temps you mentioned should indeed be watched closely. If you continue to experience black screens, it might indicate either the GPU or PSU isn’t cutting it for your setup. You could explore upgrading to the RTX 5060 Ti for a bit more VRAM if needed.
