What’s the Best Upgrade Path for My Gaming PC?

I recently built a gaming PC for around $350, mainly just for fun, since I used to be really into gaming. Now I'm looking to dive back in and want to ensure I can hit 1080p and 1440p at around 144fps. I've heard it's best to sync my fps with my monitor's refresh rate, and I'm okay with achieving 144fps only at 1080p. Thanks in advance for any advice! Here are my current specs: Zotac 3060 AMP White 12GB, Gigabyte B550M DS3H AC, Ryzen 5 5600G, 32GB DDR4 at 2400MHz, 600W PSU, and a 1TB M.2 SSD.

Your RAM is pretty slow, which can be a bottleneck right now. But with the way prices are, upgrading it isn’t the best move. A solid upgrade would be to go for a higher-end 30 series GPU or a midrange 40 series one; that could give you the performance boost you need. Just keep in mind you might need to upgrade your power supply to accommodate that new GPU.

You might want to reconsider your CPU choice. The Ryzen 5 5600G is an APU that runs on PCIe 3.0, and that can limit your newer GPU's performance. Also, your RAM is just at stock speeds, which isn't great. Going for a 2x16GB configuration at 3200MHz would be ideal. Enabling XMP could help you reach those speeds if your motherboard supports it!
