I've already installed Linux on my computer, and now I'm looking to dual boot it with Windows. I want to avoid formatting everything to install Windows first. What's the best way to go about doing this?

To dual boot, you'd typically start by shrinking your Linux partition to create space for Windows. You can't resize while running Linux, though, so use GParted Live ISO from a bootable USB to do that. After shrinking the partition, install Windows on the newly freed space. After installation, you might need to fix the bootloader since Windows can overwrite it. Depending on whether you have BIOS or UEFI, you might use Boot-Repair to set things right. This will help you boot into either OS after that!
How do you actually reconfigure the bootloader for UEFI? I'm a bit lost on that part.
