I'm looking for a reliable device that can remotely turn off and on anything plugged into it, or possibly allow me to schedule power cycles. I have an older analog FXS gateway used for fax lines, and it tends to freeze up. The only fix is to unplug it and plug it back in. Unfortunately, there isn't a power button, so a quick power cycle does the trick. If anyone has suggestions for a solid remote reboot solution or a way to schedule reboots (like every night at midnight), I'd really appreciate it!

You might want to check out networked power distribution units (PDUs). They’re perfect for remote power management and have the capability to reboot devices. They might be a bit of an investment, but they work great for situations like yours.
I used a simple $7 smart plug from Walmart for my cable modem! I set it to cut power at 3 AM and restore it at 3:01 AM. It's pretty straightforward and gets the job done without any hassle.
Have you tried the WattBox? It’s another good option for remotely switching power on and off.
You might also want to consider switching to an eFax provider like Concord. It would eliminate the need for this setup entirely. However, I understand you're still working with your current setup for now.
If you're looking for something more affordable, I suggest trying a TP-Link smart plug. They’re usually around $15 on Amazon. You can set schedules or manually toggle them on and off as long as you have Wi-Fi. I've been using one for my cable modem, and it's been super reliable!
