What’s the Best Way to Set Up a Dual Boot with Windows and Linux on My SSD?

I'm planning to upgrade my Windows PC storage with a 2 TB SSD where I'll install both Windows and Linux for dual booting. My main use for Linux will be schoolwork and software development, while I'll use a separate 4 TB SSD for gaming in the future. Is this a solid plan, or are there better alternatives? Also, are there any important things I should be aware of regarding the dual boot setup?

Your plan actually sounds pretty good! Installing Linux on the 2 TB SSD with Windows is a viable option, especially if you'll be using the 4 TB drive just for games. Just make sure you set up the boot sequence properly. One tip: it's often recommended to install Windows first and then Linux, as that simplifies getting the dual boot loader to work correctly. But it looks like you've got this under control!

I’ve personally had no issues dual booting Windows 10 with Linux on the same drive. Just a heads up though, some users report complications with Windows 11 and Linux if they share the same SSD. Keep that in mind while you move forward. Hope everything goes smoothly for you!
