Hey everyone! I'm totally new to programming and I'm interested in learning Java. Can you give me some recommendations on how to get started? What's the best approach for a beginner like me?

A good way to kick off your Java journey is by Googling "Java course" or "Java tutorial". Dedicate about an hour each day to watch videos or read materials. Don't stress about finding the absolute best tutorial—mix it up! Use a variety of resources like videos, online classes, articles, and books. Try out the code you learn about, and as questions arise, dive deeper into those topics. That's the key to really understanding programming. Just keep at it every day, and you'll grow your skills!

Thanks a lot for that advice! I agree that self-teaching can really be effective. Appreciate the starting point!

Check out the FAQs in the sidebar of this subreddit for a bunch of recommended resources. There's also a subreddit specifically for learning Java called /r/learnjava. They have a ton of great resources, and the top one is the MOOC from the University of Helsinki. It’s called Java Programming—definitely start with that!

Just a heads up, I noticed you asked the same question a couple of days ago. Make sure you check the resources that were already provided because they have a lot of answers for beginners!

Thanks for the tips! I asked again because it seemed like my previous comment was removed. Sorry about that!
