SonicWall has announced that due to significant vulnerabilities associated with older VPN appliances, they will be disabling all SMA 100 devices on October 31, 2025. This means that these devices will lose user connectivity and overall functionality, which raises concerns for many users. Although there are migration programs and free replacements available, service and support will officially end on the same date. I'm curious how others are planning to address this situation. I just found out about it via email and it concerns me!

Honestly, I have a feeling we might hear about some major vulnerabilities with the SMA 100 devices soon, almost like a Spinal Tap situation where things are being taken up to '11'. Their timeline for this is pretty rough, but I have to admit the replacement policy is decent – they’re offering two years of ZTNA service for free, plus a no-cost upgrade to the SMA 1000 series or SSL VPN licenses for their firewalls. Just make sure not to pick the firewall license, though, haha!
