I'm really confused about the roles of a Network Administrator and a Systems Administrator. Could someone clarify how they differ and if there is any overlap in their skills?

The main difference is that a Network Administrator focuses on networking hardware and infrastructure, like routers and switches, while a Systems Administrator deals with servers, cloud applications, and user permissions. They often work together, especially in larger companies, but their roles are distinct. If both are present, the Network Admin handles everything network-related, and the SysAdmin manages systems and applications.

That's a good breakdown! I also think it's worth noting that in smaller companies, these roles can overlap quite a bit, since one person may end up doing both jobs.
