What’s the GUI like in Linux Mint for beginners?

I'm curious about the Cinnamon desktop, which is the default interface for Linux Mint. How does it look straight out of the box without any custom tweaks? I'm looking for something that is clean and minimal because I don't want to spend a lot of time customizing (I find KDE too barebones). I tried Ubuntu before but didn't connect with it—felt like something was missing. Recently switched to Fedora but it feels overly restrictive. What's Linux Mint's GUI like, and do you have any other starter distro suggestions that offer a good-looking interface?

Cinnamon has a pretty familiar look, kind of like Windows, which many find comforting. You might want to check out some YouTube videos for a visual tour. It's often said that a video is more effective than text for this kind of question.

Honestly, it’s all subjective! I found Cinnamon intuitive and responsive right out of the box. You can tweak it later if you want, but it’s functional without fussing over every detail. I personally think it's refreshing to have the choice of customizing but not stressing over it.

I agree with you! Sometimes it’s nice to just use it as-is without overthinking the tweaking.
