I'm on the hunt for the cheapest GPU that can outpace my iGPU until I save enough for a better setup around the 9700X. What are some decent, budget-friendly options I can consider?

For 1080p gaming, the 6600XT is a solid choice and it's modern enough that you might find trade-in deals for a year or so. Just keep in mind it's not for intense 2K gaming but should work well for your needs!
If you're looking for dirt cheap, you should keep an eye out for whatever you can find used for around $50. You might get lucky!
If you're aiming for something under $100, check out a used GTX 1070. For around $200, you might find a used RTX 2070 Super, and if you can stretch your budget to about $300, the RX 6700 XT could be a good choice too.
Your options really depend on what you plan to do and your monitor's resolution. For lower budgets, check out some Intel GPUs; they've got some decent models available.
I found that the 1070 Ti or even a 1080 are pretty easy to locate, especially if you're looking for something decent at a lower price. I paired one with my 7700x back in 2023 when money was tight.
Sounds like a smart move! These cards are still good performers for budget builds.
