What’s Up with My RAM XMP Profile Changing?

So today my PC booted up and I got a prompt saying that the CPU or RAM has changed, which led me to enter the BIOS setup. To my surprise, the XMP profile for my RAM jumped from 6000MHz (with a 4800 BCLK) to what seems like 7600MHz. But when I enable XMP, it bizarrely shows my RAM clock speed dropping to 38MHz. That can't be right! I managed to manually set the RAM to 6400MHz, but I'm really puzzled by this sudden change. I'm using Silicon Power Zenith 2x16 sticks. Notably, when I checked with CPU-Z, one of the sticks shows an XMP profile at just 33MHz. Could this indicate a faulty stick?

Hey, it sounds like you might be facing a memory issue. First things first, load up CPU-Z and check the SPD tab to confirm the specifications of your RAM. Also, take a look at the Memory tab to see the current speeds. If you can, take screenshots of both tabs and share them—it'll help the community diagnose the problem better! Good luck!

You might be dealing with a bad RAM stick. It's concerning that one stick is showing 33MHz while the other shows the correct speed. Try reseating your RAM sticks or testing them one at a time to pinpoint any faulty ones. Also, make sure your BIOS is up to date, as that can sometimes resolve weird compatibility issues.
