I'm looking to upgrade my system with a budget-friendly graphics card, specifically between the RX 6600 and the RTX 3050. I have a decent setup with a Ryzen 5 5600G, 16GB RAM, and a 450W power supply. Right now, I mainly play games at 720p. I've noticed that while the RX 6600 generally outperforms the RTX 3050, I'm concerned about future-proofing, especially with ray tracing becoming more standard in newer games. Given that the prices for both are roughly the same in my country, which one do you think would be a better choice for the future?

Honestly, the RX 6600 is definitely the better choice performance-wise. It beats the RTX 3050 quite handily. Ray tracing isn't really going to be something either card excels at, so if you're looking for more power for your games, just go with the 6600 and save some cash.
If you're on a tight budget, I wouldn't worry too much about ray tracing just yet. The RX 6600 will give you the best performance for 1080p gaming. In your position, that's the smarter pick.
Honestly, neither card is fantastic for ray tracing, but for pure raster performance, the RX 6600 is superior. It's going to serve you better in the long run for 1080p gaming. I've been using a similar setup and have found great results with higher settings and solid frame rates.

Totally agree! I’ve been running a setup with a RX 6600 and it handles everything I throw at it like a champ.
