Hey everyone! I'm getting ready to build a new PC because my current setup (which has a 9400F and a 1650) is seriously outdated. I've already purchased some key components: a RX 9070 graphics card, 32GB of DDR5 RAM, two 1TB SSDs (one Gen 5 and one Gen 4), and a used Antec CX700 power supply that I snagged for under 20 bucks. Now, I'm torn between going for the 9600X, the 9700X for an additional $100, or stepping up to the 7800X3D for $120 more. Do you think the price jump is worth it? Also, I'm considering the MSI B850-P Wifi motherboard since I need Bluetooth and plenty of USB ports. Is that a good choice, or is there something better for my needs? I'm planning to play games like Hogwarts Legacy, AC Valhalla, Battlefield 6, Spiderman, and Wukong, along with some CS2 and Valorant with friends. I'd really appreciate any help!

Honestly, the 9600X is plenty powerful for what you're planning to do. Make sure your power supply has enough headroom, and you'll be good to go!
I just built my system with a 9600X and paired it with a B650 Steel Legend WiFi. Combined with a 5070 TI, it works great, and the motherboard has plenty of power for future upgrades.
Do you have a high-refresh-rate monitor? If you're planning to upgrade to something like a 300Hz 1080p or 240Hz 2K, that might affect your CPU choice too!
Right now, I'm on a 144Hz 1080p, but I'm thinking of upgrading after building my new PC.
I don’t know much about the 9600X and 9700X, but I've got a 9800X3D, and I can tell you those X3D chips provide a smooth gaming experience. If you can swing the 7800X3D, it's definitely worth it!
For a game like Wukong, I'd lean heavily towards the 7800X3D. It’ll give you an edge in performance, especially for those action-packed moments.
If the price is right, the 9600X is a solid pick. Just keep in mind you won't need the extra performance from the 9700X unless you're heavily multitasking. Check out some benchmarks as well to see the cost-effectiveness!

That sounds solid! I was worried about ASRock motherboards after reading some reviews. Should I choose a different brand?
