I'm currently in the process of building a gaming PC, but I also want it to handle 3D modeling in Blender since I'm studying that. I'm uncertain about which CPU would be the best fit for these tasks. Here are some options I'm considering:
- Ryzen 9 7950X

- AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D

I have to say it depends on your budget and what games you prefer. If you're looking for the best gaming performance, the 7800X3D or 9800X3D are top choices, but keep in mind the 7800X3D can perform underwhelmingly for non-gaming tasks in comparison with the 7700X. Also, consider using SSDs instead of HDDs if possible, it will greatly enhance your performance.
From my experience, unless you’re planning to do very intensive 3D work, a robust gaming build should suffice. Older versions of Blender performed well on much less powerful setups. Also, make sure your RAM capacity is enough since that impacts performance in Blender, too.
Honestly, the 7950X is a solid choice. While it might be a bit more expensive, it provides a good balance of gaming and Blender performance.
