I'm looking to upgrade my aging PC for gaming and need some advice on which CPU to buy. I currently have an Intel Core i7-8086K paired with an RTX 3070, and I want a powerful CPU that will future-proof my setup for when I eventually upgrade my GPU. I'd prefer to stick with Intel, but I'm also considering a solid AMD alternative if necessary. My budget is around $400 to $500, but I could stretch it a little over $600 if needed. What do you recommend?

If you're mainly gaming, I'd suggest considering the AMD Ryzen 7800X3D or the 9800X3D, as they're both fantastic for gaming right now. The 9800X3D is a bit more expensive but offers only a slight performance boost over the 7800, so weigh whether that extra cost is worth it based on your budget. Intel does have some decent options too, but AMD tends to perform a bit better with the latest games. Plus, don't forget to think about your motherboard and memory as they'll play a role too!
What kind of impact would the 9800X3D have if I ever used my PC for tasks other than gaming?
