Which CPU Should I Pick for My New Build: Ryzen 7600, 7600X, or 9600X?

Hey folks! I just got myself an ASUS ROG Strix B650-A Gaming Wi-Fi motherboard and I'm at a crossroads trying to decide between three CPUs: the Ryzen 7600, 7600X, and 9600X, all of which are priced similarly on Amazon. I'm on a budget, and since I'm in another country, I'm hoping for a payment option that allows me to buy in installments. I've got some questions about RAM too, so any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Considering the slight price difference—with the 9600X being around $20 more—it seems like a no-brainer to go for it. It features a new architecture and performs about 10% better than the 7600X, plus it's more efficient. The 7600 was once a top choice, but with these new options, the 9600X is definitely the better buy. If the budget tightens more, think about the Ryzen 7500F, which is a solid alternative, but it’s slightly weaker than the 7600X.

I initially looked at the Ryzen 7500F too, but I see it’s become pricier, which makes the 9600X a better choice with its lower TDP. Just be sure to grab a good air cooler!

All three CPUs have their own merits, but they’re quite alike overall. The 7600 is a great midrange 6-core option for those on a budget. The 7600X has a slight upgrade in base clock speed, but you’ll need to get a separate cooler for it. The 9600X is an improved version of the 7600X, offering about 10% better performance with the same efficiency at 65W, which helps it run cooler. Just keep in mind this one also requires a cooler!

If the power efficiency of the 9600X is a key factor for you, it might be worth the extra bucks, especially if you're looking for something that doesn't run hot!
