Which GPU Should I Choose: 5070 Ti, 7900 XT, or 7900 XTX for Video Editing and Gaming?

I'm looking for some advice on selecting a new GPU since my parents are willing to gift me one. Currently, I have an Intel Core Ultra 7 265K, an RTX 3060 12GB, and 32GB DDR5 RAM. I mainly use my PC for editing in DaVinci Resolve, working with long 4K 60fps footage, and applying medium-to-heavy fusion effects. However, I've been hitting VRAM limits with my current setup.

I'm considering three options: the 5070 Ti, 7900 XT, and 7900 XTX. Here's a quick rundown of the pros for each:

- **5070 Ti (cheapest at £720)**: Good Nvidia/CUDA support in Resolve with decent 16GB VRAM.
- **7900 XTX (cheapest at £750)**: Massive 24GB VRAM for future-proofing and excellent raw performance.
- **7900 XT (cheapest at £600)**: More affordable with good 20GB VRAM and comparable performance to the XTX.

I do some gaming too, like Marvel Rivals, Minecraft, and Call of Duty, but I'm looking for power in case I decide to play more demanding titles.

Any recommendations or additional suggestions? Also, would a 750W Gold PSU (costing £80) work well with any of these cards?

Honestly, just go for the 5070 Ti if you want a safe, reliable option. Even as a 7900 XT owner, I see the value in the newer architecture of the 5070 Ti if the prices are similar. A 750W Gold PSU should handle any of these cards just fine!

If you're looking for the best bang for your buck, the RX 7900 XT is a solid choice for 4K editing and your gaming needs. The 5070 Ti is good long-term, but the XT gives you more VRAM at a better price.

That’s a great point! I appreciate the suggestion! Just to clarify, is the VRAM difference between the XT and 5070 Ti significant for video editing?

It's all about what you're focusing on. For pure video editing, the 7900 XTX's VRAM is amazing, but if you're trying to save some cash while still getting great performance, the 7900 XT isn’t far behind.

I’d go with the 5070 Ti since it shines both in gaming and productivity, especially with DaVinci Resolve. It's almost a no-brainer if your focus is on performance for editing.

Thanks for the input! I didn’t think about the 5070 Ti's productivity strength. I'll definitely consider that!

Definitely choose the 5070 Ti! The performance in Resolve is really hard to beat. Plus, if you're gaming on the side, it will serve you well for that too.
