Which GPU Should I Choose: RTX 5060 or ARC B580?

I'm trying to decide between the RTX 5060 with 8GB of VRAM or the ARC B580 with 12GB of VRAM. The ARC B580 is just $10 more expensive. I primarily play games like Valorant, Fortnite, and Marvel Rivals, and I want to keep whichever GPU I choose for about 5 years. My setup includes a Ryzen 7 5800X CPU, 32GB of DDR4 RAM, and a 650W PSU. Are the extra 4GB of VRAM in the ARC B580 worth the potential driver issues several users have mentioned? Which one do you recommend?

I'd still go with the 5060. It's faster and comes with a ton of Nvidia features. Sure, the VRAM might be a concern down the road, but you can always adjust settings as needed.

It really depends on your resolution. Are you gaming at 1080p or 1440p? If you’re at 1080p, the 5060 should handle most competitive games just fine for the next 5 years, but you might run into VRAM issues later on. Just something to think about!

I’m all in for the B580!

Thanks! Is a 650W PSU sufficient for that one?

The B580 does have its quirks with older games, so be ready for some workarounds. Still, for the games you mentioned, the B580 could be a great fit since it's improved a lot recently.

I'd probably choose the B580 due to its increasing driver reliability and the 12GB of VRAM giving it more longevity over the next 5 years. But the 5060 definitely has better features. If you're only playing at 1080p though, the 5060 will still work well. The 650W PSU is solid for both options too.

Why is a PCIe 3.0 motherboard a no-go for the 5060?

If old Windows games are your jam, I'd pick Nvidia every single time. They've got better support for older titles.

I'm leaning towards the RTX 5060, honestly. The B580 is decent, but I trust the reliability of the 5060 more, plus you get performance perks from DLSS and Frame Generation. However, I wonder how it’ll hold up in 3-5 years, since the B580 might end up giving you a few extra frames due to its added VRAM. It's tough to predict performance long-term, but for now, the 5060 is my pick.

The 5060 has worse performance than the B580, and the driver problems with the latter have mostly been resolved.

Thanks for your input! Is a 650W PSU enough for the RTX 5060?
