I'm deciding between the RTX 5060Ti and the RX 9060 XT, both with 16GB of RAM. The 5060Ti costs about $75-$100 more, and I'm mainly looking for something future-proof with good driver support. My primary use will be gaming at 1440p, but I might do some productivity work occasionally. Additionally, I'm considering whether to go for the Ryzen 7 7700 or the Ryzen 5 7500F, with the latter being around $60 cheaper. I'd love to hear from anyone who has personal experience with these components! Thanks!

If you can grab the 5060Ti for under $400, it's a good deal! While I respect AMD's efforts, their driver support on Windows can sometimes fall short compared to Nvidia. Often, games are optimized for Nvidia first, which can be a real issue. However, if you're on Linux, AMD might treat you better.
For gaming, the 5060 Ti generally outperforms the RX 9060 XT by a few percent and offers superior upscaling and frame generation with DLSS. That said, it might not be justifiable to pay $100 more for it. Overall, I think the 7500F paired with the 5060 Ti is a solid choice.
Is there a better GPU option in the same price range that you'd recommend?
Honestly, I'd suggest the RTX 5060Ti if you're concerned about future-proofing, especially after the issues with AMD's driver support. The 7500F paired with the 5060Ti is a great combo. However, with AMD's recent clarifications, the RX 9060 XT could still be a contender if you're interested in that.
Wait, what issues are you referring to with AMD's drivers?
Just a few days ago, I'd have leaned towards AMD, but with their recent announcement about putting older GPUs into maintenance mode, I'm now favoring Nvidia. Just my two cents.
Aren't they working more on RDNA 4? The 9060XT is based on that, so could it potentially benefit from new updates?
RDNA2 is aging, but AMD has optimized it well over time. 'Maintenance mode' doesn't mean they abandon updates, just that they won't focus on enhancements as much.

So just to clarify, does the 5060Ti indeed have superior driver support for Windows?
