Hey everyone! I just built a new PC, and I'm stuck on which GPU to get. I'm looking at two options: the RTX 5070 Ti costing around 1,132 EUR (approximately 1,335 USD), and the RX 9070 XT at 784 EUR (about 924 USD). That's quite a price gap! The main factor for me is DLSS—I'd really like to know how much better it is compared to AMD's FSR in real-world use. How does the RX 9070 XT stack up against the RTX 5070 Ti in terms of image quality, performance uplift, frame generation, and overall smoothness? Is the extra cost for DLSS justified?

I really don't think DLSS justifies the price jump for the 5070 Ti. Even if FSR isn't as strong right now, we have to remember that these upscalers are constantly improving. Plus, there’s a nice sale on the RX 9070 XT available for 670 EUR, which seems like a steal for today's performance.
In general, DLSS is better supported and offers slightly superior image quality compared to FSR, but the gap isn't as wide anymore. I personally don't see the value in spending around 44% more on the RTX 5070 Ti when the performance is pretty close across most games. Unless you’re using programs that benefit from CUDA, I’d say stick with the RX 9070 XT!
There was actually a blind test where more people preferred DLSS over FSR without knowing which was which, so it clearly has advantages, especially in certain titles.
With the current price differences, I'd absolutely go for the RX 9070 XT. The RTX 5070 Ti may have better features, but a $400 premium isn't worth it for most gamers. The performance differences in regular gaming just don't support that cost.
Exactly! You can save that money for other upgrades, like a better monitor, which could make a bigger difference!
Having owned both, I found the image quality between DLSS and FSR4 from a gaming perspective isn't significantly different pre DLSS 4.5. The bigger issue is the rollout of supportive titles. Nvidia's DLSS is much more widely accepted, while AMD's FSR implementations lag behind in terms of compatibility and overall quality.
Wait, doesn't AMD's software allow toggling FSR ML to override certain versions? I've seen games where my RX 9070 XT still handles stuff really well without FSR!
Given that you're eyeballing 4K gaming, I'd say the 9070 XT should be more than capable as long as you're not demanding too much from it. The extra cash for the 5070 Ti mostly gets you features that might not significantly impact your gameplay. Plus, look into the used market—it might give you some solid options too.
If you're considering some performance-heavy titles, it might be a good call to check that out first! There's a lot of value there.

Yeah, it's likely AMD will release FSR5 soon, which could make the 9000 series completely compatible with the latest upscaling features, so I wouldn't count them out!
