I'm gearing up to build a new PC and I'm weighing my options between two graphics cards: the ASRock Challenger 9070 XT for $650 and the ASUS Prime 5070 Ti for $750, which is a $100 difference. My build includes a Ryzen 7 9700x CPU, an MSI Mag B850 Tomahawk MAX WIFI motherboard, and 32GB of Corsair Vengeance RGB DDR5 RAM. I'm sticking with the 9700x instead of going for the pricier x3D version. My primary goal is to find the best performance for ultra 4K gaming and also top-notch performance for ultra 1440p gaming. I currently own a PNY 5070 that I could return, but I'm considering whether to keep it or to go for the new components.

I've been diving into discussions about these cards and honestly, it really depends on the games you play. Check out benchmarks for the specific titles you enjoy; compare the average FPS along with the 0.1% and 1% low metrics. Both cards are closely matched, but the performance can change from game to game. Personally, I wouldn't spend the extra $100 since I'm not too fussed about ray tracing and my opinions haven't shifted much based on benchmarks.
If you're looking for the best performance without overthinking it, I’d suggest pairing the 7800x3d with the 9070 XT. It’s been a solid combo for reliable gaming without crashes, and it handles most titles incredibly well. Unless you're after features like DLSS or frame generation, this combo gives you great bang for your buck.
If ultimate performance is your priority, then the 5070 Ti is the way to go. It has the edge in several areas and would be a future-proof choice for gaming.
But those low frames can be frustrating! I'd definitely consider stability before just performance.

Exactly! The minimums really make a difference in terms of stability. I reckon the 5070 Ti might even catch up with software updates, but I lean towards the reliability of the 9070 XT.
