I'm a gamer who primarily uses Steam and Epic Games. I'm not really into multiplayer games, so I'm looking for a user-friendly Linux distribution that works well for gaming on those platforms. What do you recommend?

I suggest trying out Pop!_OS, Nobara, or Bazzite. They all have good reputations for gaming and are pretty user-friendly, which is a plus!
Honestly, most of the popular mainstream distributions handle gaming really well. If gaming is your main focus, Bazzite is worth a look for its gaming optimizations.
If you're considering Fedora, it works great with Lutris for non-Steam games, and it should work with Steam too, though I haven’t tested that myself. Using Flatpak for installations can be a good move as well.
Nobara is a great option! It's essentially an optimized version of Fedora tailored for gaming and general use, so everything is pretty much set up for you. You might also want to check out Bazzite; it's solid too, though it can feel a bit more rigid.
For those new to Linux, I recommend either Fedora or Zorin. There isn't a 'best' OS for gaming since it really comes down to personal preference. You can even use Ventoy on a flash drive to test multiple OSes without committing to an installation right away!
That's a smart idea! Trying out different distros first sounds less intimidating.

I've heard that Bazzite comes pre-installed with loads of tools and launchers, which is pretty handy for newcomers!
