Hey everyone! I recently discovered that our home computer is running Windows 10, and I'm keen on switching to a different operating system. I'm not interested in upgrading to Windows 11 due to privacy concerns, so I'm considering either Linux Mint or Zorin OS. I'm looking for the best choice for someone who's new to Linux since I'm the only tech-savvy person in the family. I want to ensure that my parents find it user-friendly for gaming, work tasks, connecting to our printer, and transferring files from phones. Both Mint and Zorin are popular, but I'm struggling to decide which one would be better for our needs. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly, I wouldn’t recommend either for a family PC. You might want to consider an immutable distro instead; it's often simpler to manage.
If you’re really torn, just flip a coin! Both are great for beginners, and they really aren't that different. I ended up choosing Zorin for my mom because it resembles the Windows interface a bit more than Mint does.
It's worth trying both distros to see which one feels better for you. Each has its own strengths, and personal preference plays a big role.
Absolutely! Just experiment and see what works best for your family's needs.

Just make sure you don’t give everyone root access, and it should work fine.
