I'm considering installing Linux on an old laptop I have, and I've narrowed it down to two options: KDE Neon and Arch. I'm drawn to KDE because it's made by the same team behind my favorite art software, Krita. However, I've also seen some interesting things about Arch, especially with the Steam OS branch. I'm looking for a distro that works well for both gaming and art applications, including potential 3D software like Blender and maybe some self-hosting projects. Which of these would be the better fit for my needs?

I think you should focus on the desktop environments. You might want to try a few using a bootable USB stick—Fedora has a great selection of environments. From there, see which distro offers the best experience with your preferred desktop.
Honestly, both distros can handle games and art programs well. The key is to install your apps as Flatpaks, and it really won't matter which distro you choose. Consider whether you prefer the latest software updates or a more stable experience where everything stays consistent.
Have you checked out BigLinux? It's a polished Arch/KDE distro that comes with Steam and other gaming tools out of the box. Plus, Krita and Blender show up right away in the app store, making it easy to get started.
I heard BigLinux is based on Manjaro, which sounds interesting. I might consider that instead!

I usually prefer to have the latest updates, but I do appreciate stability more.
