Which Linux Distro Should I Choose for Gaming and Work?

As the year is coming to a close, I'm considering making the switch to Linux for my computing needs. I primarily use my computer for programming and gaming, specifically with titles like Monster Hunter Wilds and Helldivers 2. I've seen recommendations for several distros including Nobara, PopOS, CachyOS, and Bazzite, but I'm having difficulty choosing between them. Additionally, I'm curious about whether I should dual boot at first or completely remove Windows later on. Is it possible to set up Linux alongside Windows and revert back if I find Linux doesn't suit me?

Here's a quick breakdown of your distro choices:
- **Nobara**: Focused on gaming, based on Fedora, good for overall stability.
- **CachyOS**: Performance-oriented, Arch-based, good for rolling updates.
- **PopOS**: Great for general use, easy to install (especially for Nvidia), Debian/Ubuntu based.
- **Bazzite**: Immutable distro, stable, user-friendly.

If you want regular updates, Cachy is your go-to. If you prefer stability over frequent changes, then Nobara is a solid choice. Remember, PopOS! might not be fully advantageous for your usage right now.

Thanks for the clear breakdown! I’ve also seen people mention X11 and Wayland. Which one is better for gaming, and should I be worried about that? Just trying to make sure I get the best experience possible.
