Hey everyone! I'm building my first PC in over a decade, and I've got a bit of a question. I recently bought the B850 EAGLE motherboard, and I'm trying to figure out which M.2 slot to use for my NVMe SSD. I saw on the official site that it has 3 M.2 slots: 1 PCIe 5.0 M.2 slot and 2 PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots. Also, just to clarify, can I expect to place my GPU in the x16 PCIe 5.0 slot instead of the x1 slots? Thanks!

What NVMe drive did you end up getting for your build?
For your motherboard, you'll want to use the upper M.2 slot, which is labeled M2A. It will be integrated with your CPU and supports both PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0 SSDs, depending on the AMD Ryzen processor you have.
Don't worry, the motherboard manual usually has everything laid out. And yes, just look for the highest slot if you're installing based on height. It's usually pretty intuitive!
I appreciate that! Can't wait for the mobo to arrive so I can figure everything out.
You'll want to use the top M.2 slot for your fastest drive, especially if it's going to be your boot drive. And yes, definitely put your GPU in the PCIe 5.0 x16 slot for the best performance!
Thanks a lot! I'm still getting used to the terminology, so this really helps.
I decided on the KingSpec 2TB PCIe 4.0 M.2 2280 SSD. Hoping it performs well!
