Hey everyone! I'm about to build my first PC and I'm looking for advice on choosing a motherboard. I'm a bit confused about the differences between the B650 and B850 chipsets. I'm planning to get a 5060 Ti with 16GB and a Ryzen 5 7600, so I'd appreciate any recommendations on motherboards that would work well with this setup. Thanks in advance!

The main difference between B650 and B850 is pretty small. B850 is basically a slightly upgraded version of B650, usually costing around $200 more. Both should perform similarly for most tasks. The primary aspect where B850 stands out is that the main M.2 slot has to be PCIe 5.0 x4, while most B650s include this too.

Thanks, that clears things up! I'll just stick with the cheaper option now.

Make sure whichever you choose, B850 or B650-E, supports PCIe 5.0 for your GPU. Regular B650s usually come with PCIe 4.0. If you're on a budget, just go for the B650; you won't lose much performance.

I can't give you a specific motherboard recommendation, but it's important to know what features you need. For instance, do you want built-in WiFi or Bluetooth? Also, think about how many USB ports you'll need. If you're considering a PCIe 5.0 SSD, I'd suggest reconsidering, as it might not be worth the investment right now.
