I'm putting together a gaming rig featuring a 9800x3d CPU, Arctic Liquid Freezer III Pro 360 cooler, 32GB of RAM, 1TB NVMe storage, and either an RTX 5070 Ti or 9070 XT GPU, all housed in an O11D MINI V2 case. I'm trying to decide among the MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WIFI, Gigabyte X870 Aorus Elite WIFI7, and Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite WIFI7. The price points are quite similar. I've heard the Tomahawk has better features, but I've also seen complaints about various issues with it. Which motherboard would be the best choice for future-proofing and compatibility with new generation CPUs?

Honestly, none of these boards are going to be significantly more future-proof than the others since they all support the same generations of CPUs. Can you share what features you're specifically looking for? They all should work similarly for your needs.
As someone using the X870 Tomahawk, I’ve experienced some quirky issues, like the common "cold boot" problem and popping from the audio outputs. It's tough to recommend this board based on those problems.
I appreciate your honesty, man. That's helpful to know!
Is there a certain feature with the X870E or X870 chipset that you need that the B850 Tomahawk Max WiFi doesn’t offer? If it's just a few features, maybe you can stick with a more budget-friendly option.
I'm considering things like an LED debug screen, but since the price gap is small, I figured I'd go for the X870.

I don’t have a solid reason for going with the X870, just thought it might offer more features for a similar price. I'm looking for a decent quality board, but I don't want to overpay.
