I'm building my first PC and need some help choosing a motherboard for my Ryzen 5 5600T. The AMD website lists a bunch of options: X570, X470, X370, B550, B450, B350, and A520. I'm on a tight budget of around £300 for the whole build. I'm also open to suggestions for a better CPU in a similar price range if there are any. Thanks!

I'd recommend going for a B550 motherboard. The B550M Pro-VDH offers great value and will support what you need for most builds. If you want more performance and features, you could consider an X570, but for a budget build, B550 should do the trick!

If you might venture into non-gaming tasks, check out a B550 for versatility. The X570 is nice for expansion and I/O, but it’s pricier. By the way, if you're exploring options for CPUs, the Intel i5-12400F is a solid alternative, and it might even be cheaper! It performs well compared to your Ryzen 5 5600T. Just keep in mind, you’ll need an Intel-compatible motherboard for that one.

Should I go with the i5-12400F for a budget build? And is it worth it to get a CPU that can overclock, or does that not provide good price-to-performance?
