Which PC Components Should I Upgrade for Better Performance?

I'm looking for some advice on upgrading my PC to keep up with the latest games. Here are my current specs: AMD Ryzen 7 2700, 32GB of RAM (likely 3200MHz), and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 with 6GB. I've had this setup since around 2019 and I want to make sure I'm future-proofing it. A friend suggested I upgrade to a Ryzen 7 5800X3D and possibly a 4070 Ti Super, but that seems quite pricey. I'm also considering a 5060 with 12GB, which I could buy for around $450. My goal is to eventually play on a 1440p OLED display at 100+ Hz and hope to be set for the next 5-6 years. So, what do you think? Are those components good choices, or should I look at something different?

Since 5800X3Ds are pretty expensive now, it's worth considering the AM5 lineup. If you find a 5800 XT on sale, that might be your best bet along with a 5070; together, they'll give you solid performance for 1440p.

So is the combination of 5800 XT and the 5070 good? I’d prefer not to switch to AM5 because I feel like I’d have to almost build a new PC.

Be careful with the 5800X3D; it's almost out of production, and prices have skyrocketed due to high demand. If you're on a budget, consider an AM5 setup with new CPU and DDR5 memory. For 1440p gaming, the 5070 is the minimum I’d suggest. I use a 5700X3D paired with a 9070 XT and get over 100fps in my games, but be cautious; you might need to upgrade your GPU again in a few years if you want to keep up with newer releases.

I prefer NVIDIA for streaming. Could the 9070 XT perform as well for that? What do you recommend for the CPU upgrade?

I'd recommend going with a Ryzen 5 7600 and a 7800 XT instead. You'll experience way better performance with those components, but the 5070 could also work fine if that’s what you prefer!

Could you expand on that thought?
