Hey everyone! I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 3600 and I want to upgrade my CPU. I'm looking to skip the AM5 platform for now. I'm considering either the Ryzen 7 5700X3D or the Ryzen 7 5800X. The 5800X is about $100 cheaper than the 5700X3D. I mainly play games, so I'd love to hear your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

Honestly, the price of the 5700X3D is climbing, making it harder to recommend. It's about $295 right now, while you can get a Ryzen 7600X and a new motherboard for around $360. If you keep an eye out, you might find better deals on used parts.

I personally think a used 5700X3D is a solid buy if you can find one.

I'd go with the 5700X3D if you're focused on gaming. The performance boost is noticeable. But if you can put that $100 savings towards something else like a better GPU, that might be a smarter move.
