Which Should I Upgrade First: CPU or GPU?

I've had my computer for about six years without any upgrades, and I'm considering my first upgrade. My current setup includes an i5 10400 CPU, an RX 5600 XT GPU, and 16GB of RAM (2x8GB). Ideally, I would like to upgrade both at the same time, but that's not in my budget right now. If I decide to upgrade the CPU, I'll likely need a new motherboard and RAM, aiming for 32GB total since the price difference isn't too much. What would you recommend: upgrading my CPU first, or should I get a new GPU? Thanks for your help!

If you're looking for better performance, I'd say go for the GPU upgrade first. It seems like your current CPU is doing well with the RX 5600 XT, but if you want to push your graphics settings higher, a stronger GPU would give you a noticeable boost. Once you're ready, you can look at upgrading the CPU and RAM later on when you have the funds.

That makes sense! I was thinking of getting a 9060 XT or something similar. Do you think that would be a good choice?

It really depends on your gaming preferences. If you're more interested in higher settings and visuals, the GPU should be your focus. On the other hand, if you're struggling with frame rates, the CPU might hold you back. Based on your specs, I think the GPU is the safer upgrade for you right now. Just check to make sure your PSU can handle the new card!
