Hey everyone! I'm having a storage issue with my awesome PC, and I'm hoping you can help me out. I often work on large 3D models and edit videos for platforms like YouTube, plus I play a lot of games and use VR frequently. With project sizes ranging from 5 to 50 GB, I'm running out of space pretty quickly! Though my PC was prebuilt, I'm a bit out of touch with today's hardware standards since I used to build PCs years ago. I'd love some advice on what SSD to get. I'm planning to use my main hard drive for work and want the SSD for gaming files. Speed is key for me, and I want to make sure it's compatible with my motherboard. Here's my setup: I have a 13th Gen Intel i9-13900KF, MPG Z790 Edge WiFi motherboard, 32GB RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080. My current system drive is a 1.82 TB WD BLUE SN570 SSD. Can I add another SSD without removing the one I have? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

What does your task manager say about your current SSD? Understanding the model can help narrow down what you're looking for.

It says I have the WD BLUE SN570 2TB.

According to your motherboard specs, it has several generation 4 M.2 slots. My go-to is the Samsung 990 PRO SSDs; they work great in terms of speed. You can get them in 1TB, 2TB, or even 4TB options, depending on what you need.

Thanks a lot for all the great responses! I appreciate the insights. I'm still getting reacquainted with the new tech, and I'll definitely do my research based on your info. Back in the day, I was juggling floppy drives, so this is a whole new world for me!

Just to clarify, running out of memory and storage are different issues. If you're out of storage, you need an SSD to store your files, not more RAM. Your MPG Z790 Edge WiFi motherboard supports multiple storage drives, including M.2 SSDs, so you'll have plenty of options to expand. It has M.2 slots that support both PCIe 4.0 and 5.0 for blazing speeds!
