Which Upgrade Should I Choose for Better Gaming and Streaming?

I'm trying to decide between two upgrade options for my gaming setup: should I go for a 9800x3D paired with a 5070TI, or a Ryzen 9 7900X with a 5080? I also stream, so performance is key. What do you think would be the best choice?

Before you decide, think about why you’re upgrading. Knowing your current bottleneck can really help! You mentioned streaming; the 9800x3D will do well for gaming and some streaming but not so much for heavy video editing. If you can, maybe stretch your budget a little to snag the combo of 9800x3D and 5080? Happy gaming!

It really depends on what you're aiming for. If you're not into overclocking, the 5070TI isn't too far behind the 5080 in performance right out of the box. However, if you're looking to push the limits, the 5080 might be the better option based on my experience. If you want something that’s stable without tweaking, I’d recommend going with the 5070TI, especially if you're focused on gaming.

I don’t know much about overclocking either, but I read that the 6080 was better for gaming and streaming. Seems like the 9800x3D is still pretty top-notch though!

Honestly, the 9800x3D would outperform either GPU if you’re primarily focused on gaming. That said, the 5080 could give you better results at higher resolutions like 4K or 1440p. Have you figured out what your main bottleneck is—CPU or GPU? If you're mainly CPU-bound, then the 9800x3D is definitely the way to go.

Right now, I have an i5-12600KF and a 3060TI. I can’t seem to stream and game at high FPS, which is super frustrating. I thought upgrading would help me out, but the 5080 and 9800x3D are both kind of pricey for me.
