I'm trying to figure out why I'm seeing a $6 monthly charge for AWS Cognito. I'm using it for a personal project and thought it was supposed to be free for fewer than 10,000 monthly active users. I only have one User Pool with just one user, set up for email-based signup and sign-in. There are no additional features enabled, and I haven't used it since mid-August. My account shows it's on the "Essential" feature plan, but should I be switching to the "Lite" plan? I can't find much detail in Cost Explorer that explains this charge.

You might be right about the automated testing client causing the charges. It's not always clear based on the app client configurations. Glad you found some insight!
Check this documentation for managing Cognito usage and costs: https://go.aws/4njnsWw. If it doesn’t clarify things, don’t hesitate to reach out to the AWS Billing support team for assistance.
It sounds like you might have created a Cognito App Client, which could be incurring charges. Make sure to check for any Machine-to-Machine (M2M) authorization app clients, as those can also affect billing.
