Hey everyone! I'm new to AWS and have been learning through some YouTube courses. I've noticed a charge of over $300 on my account, even though I thought I had closed all my instances. It turns out that the charges are coming from my EKS clusters, which I didn't realize would continue accruing costs. This is quite a burden for me financially, especially since I see that my projected bill for February is over $400, despite having deleted all EKS clusters, volumes, and instances. I already reached out to AWS support for help but haven't received a response yet. I'm hoping to find out if there are any other options available to manage this situation. I'd really appreciate any advice or assistance. Thanks a lot!

Just keep checking your usage regularly. Those projections can be misleading. AWS charges can fluctuate, so it might come down after a week as you delete resources. Hang in there!
Welcome to the world of cloud computing! It's tough to navigate those fees at first, but you're definitely not alone. I once got charged too, but when I explained my mistake to AWS support, they were surprisingly understanding and forgave the charges. It's worth a shot!
Sorry to hear about those surprise charges! It’s a pain for sure. Since you already opened a support case, keep some patience for their response; they tend to get a lot of queries. Meanwhile, be sure to check out this article that gives tips on how to track unexpected charges in AWS. Just keep an eye on your costs this week; they can change as you get further into the month.
Thanks for the advice! I’ll be monitoring it closely.
I second that! Support can sometimes take a while but they should be able to help.

Got it! I’ll watch for changes in my account.
