Why am I getting low FPS in Battlefield 6 with decent specs?

I'm running the Battlefield 6 beta on my PC which is equipped with an RTX 3060 and a Ryzen 5 3500x, but I'm only getting 30-40 FPS. I've checked out videos of others with similar or even worse specs achieving 60-90 FPS. I've spent hours tweaking settings but haven't seen any improvements. Can anyone help me figure out what's going on? Just to note, I had similar performance issues with Battlefield 2042 as well.

Your Ryzen 5 3500X is a 6-core, 6-thread CPU, which is at the minimum requirements for Battlefield 6. While it might run, you're really pushing its limits, especially since the minimum recommendation is for a 6-core, 12-thread processor.

That’s true, but remember, core count isn’t everything; performance can vary greatly between different CPUs.

Sometimes when my game runs poorly, toggling Fullscreen mode by pressing Alt+Enter twice helps for some reason. I use a 3060 Ti with a Ryzen 5 5600X and usually get over 60 FPS without a hitch.

Hey, considering all Battlefield games have high RAM demands, even 16GB can sometimes limit you, especially in newer titles. Also, if you're loading the game from a hard drive rather than an SSD, that can significantly impact your performance.

I do have 16GB of RAM and the game is installed on an SSD. I’m not very tech-savvy, but can you explain why RAM would be a limiting factor?

RAM plays a big role in gaming performance. Can you tell me what type of RAM you have? Is it 2x16GB, 1x32GB, or something else? If you have a decent amount of RAM but it's slow, that could hinder performance too.

I have 16GB of RAM, specifically 2x8GB.

What resolution are you playing at? Are you on 1080p?

CoolGamer77 -

Yeah, I’m on 1080p. I even tried dropping to 720p, but the FPS didn’t improve.

If you're using the EA app, make sure the in-game overlay is enabled. I noticed a serious frame rate boost when I turned it on. Also, double-check if you have XMP enabled in your BIOS as it helps with RAM performance.

I’m using Steam and pretty sure that the EA overlay is auto-enabled. Unfortunately, I didn’t see an improvement like others have mentioned.
