I recently got my hands on a non-standard controller, and after finally getting it to work, I'm running into a major issue with the face buttons. The X Button acts as Y, the A Button acts as X, the B Button acts as A, and the Y Button is also A! Plus, I don't have a B button at all, which is making it impossible to back out of anything. I'm at my wits' end here! What could be causing this, and how can I fix it? (I've already tried the classic turn it off and on approach, but that didn't solve the problem!)

Yeah, I'm using it on PC. Does that change anything?
Are you using it on PC? Sometimes the compatibility settings can mess with button mappings.
It sounds like your controller might be set to a different configuration. Some third-party controllers have a toggle switch that can switch the button mapping to something like a Nintendo setup, which can swap some buttons around. If you can find out the model of your controller, that could help in figuring it out.
