Why Are My Games Capped at 60Hz After Upgrading to Windows 11?

I recently upgraded to Windows 11, and I'm experiencing an issue where my games are capped at 60Hz as soon as I launch them. This happens with multiple games like Geometry Dash, Osu, and even Roblox. I've already checked my advanced display settings, which are set to 144Hz, but the screen flickers and then drops down to 60Hz whenever I start a game. It's quite frustrating, especially since my monitor supports 144Hz. I've tried resetting my AMD and NVIDIA settings and ruled out Vsync as a factor, but nothing seems to fix it. Any ideas on how to get rid of this 60Hz cap?

Hey, have you checked what type of cable you're using? If you're on an HDMI 1.4, it should support 144Hz at 1080p, but just double-check! Sometimes the cable can be the issue.

I’m using an HDMI 1.4 cable too, and it has worked fine for me. But I understand it can be frustrating! Maybe there’s another underlying issue?

Honestly, I’ve had similar issues after upgrading, and it’s really annoying. Sometimes I think a console is just easier to manage without all this tech hassle!

It sounds like a graphics driver issue. Make sure you’ve updated both your AMD and NVIDIA drivers. They sometimes have different settings for Windows 11 compared to 10. You might also want to set your framerate limit in the graphics settings to match your monitor's refresh rate.

I've already done that, and it hasn't changed anything for me. I'm wondering if I should just reset my PC at this point.
