Why are my games getting slower on Windows 11?

I've been gaming on my PC for a while now and noticed a significant drop in performance. Back in August, I was hitting around 300 FPS in games like Valorant and CS:GO, but now I'm struggling to reach 170 FPS, and in CS:GO, I'm down to 40 FPS. My GPU usage shows only 2%, and I'm not sure how to resolve this. I have an RTX 3050 GPU and an AMD Ryzen 5 5500 CPU, so I'm looking for any tips on improving my performance.

Have you changed any settings in your games or had a recent Windows update? Here are a few steps you can try: First, make sure your recycle bin isn't cluttered with unnecessary stuff and empty it when you're sure you don't need those files. If your PC has been running without a restart, a reboot might help as well. Also, check what background processes are running while you're gaming—they could be hogging your resources. Lastly, ensure your graphics drivers are up to date; plenty of tutorials online can guide you through the process if you're unsure.

I'm in a similar boat! I factory reset my PC recently, and it felt like a fresh start. Maybe that's also affecting your FPS? If you still have issues after trying the basic troubleshooting steps, you might consider selling your PC and getting a new one if you think it's just not cutting it anymore.

Going back to Windows 10 could be an option if you're really struggling with performance on 11. It's generally more stable for gaming. If you're not sure how to roll back, there are guides available that can help you through that process. But definitely make sure you back up any data first!
