Why Are My Games Stuttering Even With Good Specs?

I'm experiencing stuttering in several games, including less demanding ones like 7 Days to Die and Project Zomboid, despite having decent hardware—a RTX 3060 and a Ryzen 7 5700x. It seems to happen mainly in games with large open worlds. Does anyone have suggestions on how to fix this?

Stuttering can be caused by a few usual suspects. First, check your GPU settings in MSI Afterburner. If you're overclocked or undervolted too much, that can lead to performance issues. Also, ensure your FPS isn’t locked too low, especially if you see dips to 1% lows that might coincide with stutters.

Could you provide your full system specs? For a game like 7 Days to Die, be aware that areas with lots of zombies can heavily impact performance, especially if your CPU is getting overloaded.

Another thing to consider is updating your BIOS. There were known issues with the AMD 5000 series related to fTPM settings that could be causing your stuttering. Disabling fTPM and secure boot might help, but if you're not sure how to do that, I can provide guidance.

Have you checked your storage and RAM? If you're using an SSD, that's good, but with 16GB of DDR4 RAM split into two 8GB sticks, make sure the sticks are running in dual channel mode for the best performance.
