I recently bought a PC from someone on Facebook Marketplace and everything seems to be in good shape, except for one thing: the fans are running at full speed constantly. The previous owner mentioned that he directly connected the fans to the power supply unit (PSU), and I'm thinking that might be why they're always at maximum RPM. Does anyone have suggestions on how I can resolve this issue? Here are the specs of my build for reference:
- CPU: Intel i7-10700F
- Motherboard: MSI B460M PRO-VDH WiFi
- GPU: RTX 2080
- RAM: 16GB DDR4
- Storage: 500GB SSD + 1TB HDD
- PSU: 650W 80+ Bronze
- Cooler: Corsair H150i

It sounds like your fans are connected directly to the PSU, which will cause them to run full speed all the time. You should connect them to the PWM headers on your motherboard instead. Look for the CPU_FAN or SYS_FAN ports; those will allow the motherboard to control the fan speeds based on temperature. Just make sure to check if the fan connections fit those headers properly.

Could you clarify where I can find the PWM headers? I see CPU_FAN, SYS_FAN, and a PUMP_FAN but I don't see a label that says PWM.
