Why Are Some Websites Not Loading on My Good Wi-Fi?

I've been struggling with an issue where certain websites won't load or are extremely slow despite having a strong Wi-Fi connection. This problem persists across different devices and browsers. I've tried changing my DNS settings to 1.1.1.1 and have even restarted my router, but nothing seems to help. Interestingly, everything works perfectly when I'm on mobile data, so I know it's not a problem with the websites themselves. Can anyone offer some guidance on what might be happening?

I did some digging and found that my internet provider intentionally throttles connections to certain websites unless they get paid by those companies. It’s wild that they’d rather do that than fix the issue! There's even a petition going around for changes in laws about this. It's surprising this isn't a bigger conversation when choosing a provider!

Using a VPN did help a bit, but it's still a little slow for me. I was wondering if this "traffic jam" will clear up eventually? Switching providers is a hassle for me right now.

It's tough to say if it will clear up, as it depends on the provider's network management. If it's a persistent issue, you may have to keep using the VPN or look into changing providers when you're able.

Have you tried using a VPN? It could indicate a peering issue with your internet provider, meaning they might have a congested path to certain websites. If that's the case, they probably won't be much help, unfortunately. It's worth checking specialized forums about ISPs to see if others are experiencing similar problems. Sometimes discussions can reveal insights about peering quality among different providers.
