Why Aren’t My Online Games Working with Ethernet?

I've been using an Ethernet connection for my PC and the internet is working well overall. I can download, upload, and play most online games without any issues. However, I'm having trouble with specific games like Elden Ring and Phasmophobia—they just won't connect. Additionally, in other games, I'm unable to use voice chat, and whenever I try to join an online server, I get stuck on a never-ending loading screen. I've attempted to change my IPv4 DNS to 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, but that hasn't helped either. I'm really stuck here and can't play these games online at all. Any ideas on what I can do?

If you’re sure it’s the Ethernet, maybe try testing a different cable to see if that resolves anything. Sometimes a faulty Ethernet cable can cause weird connectivity issues. Also, check for any drivers for your network adapter that may need updating.

Have you considered that it might not just be the Ethernet causing the problem? Sometimes, certain games have specific settings or firewall issues that could block your connection. It might be worth checking your router settings or firewall to ensure those games are allowed to connect online.
