Why aren’t my secondary SSDs showing up?

I've got a main NVMe 1TB SSD that's working perfectly and holds my BIOS and OS, but I'm having serious trouble with a new NVMe 2TB SSD I bought. It just doesn't show up at all, no matter how I access it. I've reinstalled the SSD several times and followed guides to tweak the BIOS, enabling all the settings they suggested. After that failed, I decided to return the NVMe and got a SATA 2TB SSD instead. I'm using the power cable from the motherboard and connecting it to the clearly labeled 'SATA & something else' spot on the power supply, but this SATA SSD also doesn't show up in the BIOS, task manager, disk manager, or device manager. My motherboard is an ASUS Prime B550-PLUS. What steps should I take to troubleshoot this?

Make sure you've also connected the data cable properly in addition to the power cable you mentioned. Sometimes, it's easy to overlook that part!

I double-checked, and the data cable is securely connected. It was a bit tricky to fit, but I can confirm both cables are in place.

FYI: After updating your BIOS, you might face issues such as getting locked out. Ensure you have the right key, or you may need to reset the BIOS settings to regain access.

Check your motherboard manual to see if the second drive ports are disabled when using the primary SSD or GPU. You might be running into lane issues that are preventing the SSD from being detected.

I looked it up, and all the lanes were enabled, so that's not the problem.
