I'm curious about the current limitations preventing AI from fully self-improving. Given the rapid advancements in AI technology, it seems like it should be possible, but I want to understand what's holding it back.

AI is improving itself in some ways; it's contributing to its own progress. However, we still need humans in the loop. Until we reach a point where human involvement is minimal, we won't see a real explosion in AI intelligence. It's like trying to run a race when one team member is always lagging behind!
I think we might get there pretty soon. Humans could be almost completely out of the loop next year, leaving only the top experts.
