I recently tried to install Ubuntu on an old laptop that was previously running Windows 11 without any issues. The installation process started fine from a DVD, but unfortunately, it was interrupted by an unknown error. Now, whenever I try to access the BIOS, the laptop just freezes. Interestingly, Windows 11 is still functioning well, and I can boot Ubuntu from the DVD without any problems. I also tried accessing the BIOS from Windows' advanced startup settings, but that didn't work either. I attempted a reset using the pin hole at the back, which seemed to reset the charging settings, but I still can't enter the BIOS. I am considering disabling Secure Boot before trying to install Ubuntu again. Any guidance would be appreciated!

Since Windows 11 is still booting without issues, your laptop isn’t bricked. You should be able to access the BIOS from Windows. There’s usually an option in the recovery settings that lets you boot straight into BIOS. I’ve done it before, but I can’t recall the exact steps at the moment. Just a side note—make sure to disable Secure Boot when you try installing Linux again; that usually helps with installation issues.
Disabling Secure Boot is definitely a good idea! I've had my share of issues when trying to install Linux with Secure Boot on.

Yup, you can access BIOS through the recovery options! Just restart into recovery mode and look for the option to troubleshoot and access BIOS. But if it freezes just like when you press F2, it sounds like more than just a software hiccup.
