Hey everyone! I just got a new HP laptop from Best Buy about a month ago to get ready for college. After setting it up and connecting to my not-so-great home wifi, I wanted to download Google Chrome, but I couldn't find it in the store at all. Is there a reason for this? I plan to check the store again when I move into my dorm, but for now, I'm going to install Firefox and make Google my default browser. I'm feeling really confused about this whole situation and could use some help!

Chrome isn't available in the official Microsoft Store, which is probably why you couldn't find it. You can just download it directly from the official Chrome website at google.com/chrome. If your laptop is running in S mode, you'll need to switch that off first because it restricts you to installing apps only from the Microsoft Store.
Honestly, who even uses the Microsoft Store for downloading programs? It's not the best route on Windows. Just go to the Chrome website instead! It's much easier.
I understand it can be confusing! Not everyone grows up using Microsoft laptops, especially with so many schools using Chromebooks. Plus, my mom downloaded Chrome from the Microsoft Store too—she thought that was the way to go! It's all about what you're used to.
